Identity System Design
When taking History of Graphic Design my Sophomore year, I noticed that our history book lacked information about Black designers. It was almost like didn't exists. As a student, I noticed there was a severe disparity in the diversity history-telling of design and that needed to change. So, as a Black designer, I took it upon myself to bring to light Black Graphic Designers who were influential in design history while also creating a platform for Black designers to showcase themselves. But why "Rise"? To me, being Black means creating the face of struggle and we do that through art. The act of creation is the enemy of destruction. When we create, we always RISE.
