ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN

In 1971, McDonald's ran a print and commercial campaign called "You Deserve a Break Today". It targeted working-class Americans, families, kids, and friend groups and acknowledged how hard they worked every day. Through the campaign, McDonald's wanted to convey the message that everyone deserved a break from the harshness of everyday life through affordable prices, a welcoming atmosphere, and a sense of happiness and togetherness.

REIMAGINED CAMPAIGN

To reimagine the 1970's McDonald's campaign, a shift in focus from everyday people to a specific group that included first responders and healthcare workers was necessary. This group has proven how invaluable they are in today's society. They, our heroes, truly deserve a break today. A campaign such as this would speak to an empathetic audience and translate across all platforms.
